EDUARDO POZO
Mr.
Ed has been involved in gymnastics since 1976. During his competitive
years as an Elite gymnast, he competed internationally representing,
in numerous occasions, his native country of Ecuador. He was a
National Team member for 4 years, and became National All- Around
Champion in 1986 and 1988 as well as South American Champion on
rings in 1989, the same year he was named Athlete of the Year
by the National Reporters Association. Mr. Ed has formal studies
in Business Administration that added to his extensive training
with National Coaching Staff from the former Soviet Union, China
and the United States; and more than 15 years of competitive coaching
experience. Mr. Ed is a USA Gymnastics Professional Member and
a National Safety Certified Coach.
From1989 to 1994, he coached developmental through Elite levels at Berks Gymnastics in Reading, PA. In 1994, he became Head Coach at Delco Gymnastics Training Center in Woodlyn, PA, and from 1995 to 2004 he was the Head Coach at AJS Pancott in West Chester, PA. Mr. Ed has coached all over the country as well as abroad. In 3 occasions, he coached at The British Championships in England, in the Bahamas, and in Puerto Rico.
To date, and with much pride for his program, many of his gymnasts have earned
full or partial gymnastics scholarships to compete in the NCAA
Division I and II Schools such as: PENN, UNC, NCSU, Western Michigan,
University of Arizona, College of William and Mary, University
of Rhode Island and Southern Connecticut State University.

MARIA POZO
Ms.
Maria began competitive gymnastics at just 10 years old. She competed
at the developmental levels all the way through High School when
she became an Elite Gymnast to represent, in two occasions her
native country of Ecuador. During this time, she earned numerous
State and National titles, especially on the Balance Beam.
She attended the prestigious Universidad Equinoccial in Quito-Ecuador majoring in Early Childhood Education. She also completed English and Science courses. Ms. Maria is currently a USA Gymnastics Professional Member and a National Safety Certified Coach. From 1993 -1994 Ms. Maria worked at Little People School in Reading, PA and helped to open and manage a new facility, assisting with bilingual needs. From 1994 through 2000, she was a very caring and dedicated teacher at Child's Place in Devon, PA and from 2001 - 2003 Ms. Maria became a teacher Supervisor at Beamont Elementary School.
During her teaching years, Ms. Maria has always been involved in gymnastics. She coached the girls team at John Pancott Center in Malvern, PA as well as levels 5 and 6 at AJS Pancott in West Chester. Many of her gymnasts achieved All Around and event titles at State Championships.
Currently Ms. Maria is completely dedicated to the development of GymOlympic Sports Academy. She is doing an incredible job managing and directing our recreational program as well as coaching Beam and Floor for our Team and Developmental levels.
As a new business owner, Ms. Maria is committed to offer the most safe and up to date gymnastics facility in the area as well as the best possible gymnastics instruction. She counts with a wonderful young team of instructors that, under her supervision, are doing a fantastic job. |
